Maple pecan pie is sure to make you say “Oh Canada!” at every bite. Sweet Canadian maple syrup, crunchy pecans and buttery pastry make this pie a dessert staple for celebrations across the pond. It’s a doddle to put together too, thanks to time-saving ready-rolled pastry. We recommend serving a warm slice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 250 ml of pure maple syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 sheet of ready rolled shortcrust pastry
- 225 g of chopped pecans
- 45 g of butter, melted
- 1 tbsp of plain flour
- 90 g of maple sugar
- 30 g of sugar
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 175 C (350°F).Step 2
Line 20-25cm diameter baking tin with ready rolled shortcrust pastry.Step 3
Whisk maple syrup, maple sugar, eggs, sugar, butter, flour and vanilla extract together.Step 4
Stir through the pecans and pour into pastry case.Step 5
Bake until filling is set and slightly puffed (approx. 1 hour)Step 6
Transfer pie to rack and cool completely.
