You just can’t beat a classic. M&S’s beautifully slow-cooked British Salt Beef is paired with rich and nutty Emmental, piquant deli mustard and pickled gherkins, sandwiched between squishy slices of German-style rye loaf.

Ingredients
- M&S British Salt Beef
- 4 slices German-style rye loaf
- 1 tbsp Deli sandwich mustard
- 4 slices Sliced Emmental
- Pickled sliced gherkins, optional to serve
Method
Step 1
Heat the oven to 200°C/ 180°C fan/ gas 6. Remove all packaging and set the piccalilli sauce aside.Step 2
Transfer the beef and juices to the foil tray provided and cover tightly with foil. Set on the middle shelf in the oven and cook for 35 mins, until piping hot.Step 3
Lightly toast the bread. Spread deli mustard over two slices of bread then top each with sliced salt beef, followed by the cheese slices.Step 4
Spread the piccalilli over the remaining 2 slices of toast. Sandwich together and serve with pickled gherkins on the side, or squeezed into the sandwich.
