
Shepherds Pie

Juicy potato mash made with Hellmann's mayonnaise, poured over fried mince and vegetables.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp of tomato puree
- 1 tbsp of flour
- 450 g of lean mince meat
- 4 tbsp of hellmann's real mayonnaise
- 250 ml of semi-skimmed milk
- 1 onion
- 1 celery stick
- 1 large carrot
- 675 g of potatoes
- 300 ml of knorr beef stock (prepared with water)
Method
Step 1
Dry fry the mince in a large saucepan until brown, then add the onion, celery and carrot and continue to cook for 20 minutes or until the vegetables are soft.Step 2
Meanwhile cook the potatoes in boiling water for 20 minutes and when cooked, mash up. Add the milk and the mayonnaise.Step 3
Stir in the flour and cook, whilst stirring for 2-3 minutes.Step 4
Add the tomato puree and stock, bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer gently for 30-40 minutes.Step 5
Preheat the oven to 180C. Spoon the mince into a shallow ovenproof dish and top with the mashed potato.Step 6
Brown under a hot grill until lightly browned. Serve immediately with a salad.
