
Super Strawberry Scones

These scones have a fabulously fruity feel, perfect with strawberries and clotted cream.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 225 g of self raising flour
- 90 g of dried strawberry
- 16 fresh strawberries, to serve
- 8 tbsp of clotted cream, to serve
- 25 g of caster sugar
- 75 g of dairy butter
- 100 ml of whole milk
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200ºC/Gas 6. Rub the butter into the flour until no lumps remain. Stir in the sugar. Roughly chop the dried strawberries if large, and add to the mixture.Step 2
Stir in the milk to form a soft dough. Roll or pat out on a lightly floured surface until about 2.5cm thick, and using a 7.5cm round cutter stamp out the scones, rerolling any scraps until all the dough is used.Step 3
Place on a baking tray and cook in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until golden. Cool on a wire rack for about 15 minutes before serving warm, split and buttered or filled with cream and fresh strawberries, if desired.
