Sweet Summer Spritz by Aber Falls
By Aber Falls
Published on 23 February 2022
Made with Welsh Dry Gin and Violet Liqueur both from the Aber Falls distillery in North Wales, the violet liqueur in this cocktail takes its inspiration from two very different sources. Firstly, the blankets of violets that grow on the hills around the Menai Straits (or Afon Menai) that separate Anglesey from mainland Gwynedd. The second inspiration is the popular child’s sweet. It’s easy to make – shake the spirits and tonic, pour over the muddled lemon, and then garnish with a slice of lemon, mint and raspberries. You’ll be left with a drink that either takes you back to your childhood or will leave you with a vague yearning to go hiking in North Wales.Time and servings
