Ingredients
- 4 British heritage pork belly strips, cut in half lengthways
- 100ml hoisin sauce
- 50ml runny honey
- ½ tsp Chinese 5 spice
- 3 salad onions, green parts only and sliced to matchsticks
- 1 red chilli, halved, deseeded and finely sliced
- 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cut to matchsticks
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 handful coriander, leaves picked
- 1 pack M&S bao buns
Method
Step 1
Put the pork belly strips in a bowl with the hoisin, honey and Chinese 5 spice. Mix well to fully coat the cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 20 mins.Step 2
Heat the oven to 180°C/ 160°C fan/ gas 4 with the grill setting also on. Line a baking tray with foil and top with pork belly strips, set on a high shelf and grill for 8 mins, until cooked through and bubbling.Step 3
Tip the salad onions and chilli into a bowl of iced water then set aside for 5 mins to allow the onion to curl up. Drain and pat dry.Step 4
Tip the onion and chilli in to a bowl and toss with the apple, vinegar and coriander.Step 5
Heat the buns to pack instructions then fill each with a piece of pork and top with slaw to serve.
