Celebrate the spooky season and get the party started with a Zombie Punch mocktail that the whole family can enjoy. Conjured up by food stylist and Fantasy Cakes author Angela Romeo, the fruity mix is topped off by quick ghoulish garnishes – simply scale up for a crowd. For a grown-up kick, add 25ml gin to each glass when adding the fruit juice.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp of lemonade, plus 2 splashes of lemonade, to top up
  • 6 drops green food colouring gel
  • 2 red grapes, halved lengthways
  • 4 blueberries
  • 200 ml of tropical fruit juice
  • 4 tbsp of grenadine syrup
  • 0.5 tsp of lime juice
  • 1 passion fruit, halved and pulp scooped out
  • 2 jelly worm sweets

Method

  • Step 1

    In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp lemonade with the food colouring; set aside.
  • Step 2

    For the ‘eyeballs’, make a hole in each grape half and stuff with a blueberry; set aside to decorate later.
  • Step 3

    To serve, divide the fruit juice and green lemonade between 2 highball glasses and mix gently. Fill with crushed ice, then pour 2 tbsp of grenadine into each highball, tilting the glass so the syrup comes into contact with the sides.
  • Step 4

    Add ¼ tsp lime juice and a splash of lemonade to each glass to top up; add the ‘eyeballs’ and passion fruit pulp. Arrange the jelly sweets to look like they’re crawling out of the glasses.
