We actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and, in doing so, already follow many of the available standards and guidelines. As part of our accessibility work, we also aim to meet Level A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and working to them will help to make Ocado.com, and the web in general, more user friendly for all.
Ocado.com has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS, which allows our website to be viewed correctly in all modern, standards compliant browsers. Plus, our continued use of standards compliant HTML/CSS code means it will continue to display correctly as future browsers are developed.
We store your payment details on a secure encrypted server which is not accessible via the Internet. Access to this data is also secured internally within Ocado, and all card numbers are encrypted using a highly secure system that financial and banking institutions rely on, called 'Blowfish Encryption'. This has a minimum 128 bit key length.
However, whilst we use (and will continue to use) the accepted guidelines and standards to develop the majority of our website, some areas are yet to meet the high standards we aim for. That's why we will continue to look for solutions that will ultimately make our entire website fully accessible.
