Taste the future of tradition from the heart of New Zealand's famous Marlborough region

A darkly captivating vintage, unravel the mysterious taste that makes 2002 a magical year for vintage

Cloudy Bay

The origin of a legend

At the eastern end of the Wairau Valley, Cloudy Bay sits invitingly on the cusp of New Zealand's famous Marlborough region. At the time of its discovery by Captain James Cook in 1770, the bay was flooded and its water cloudy with sediment. Visitors to the bay today are welcomed with an altogether clearer picture - of the majestic Richmond Ranges immortalised on the Cloudy Bay label.

The Cloudy Bay philosophy

The original Cloudy Bay Estate, was converted from barren sheep and cattle country to thriving vineyard in 1986. Located on Jacksons Road, Rapaura vineyard is the home of Cloudy Bay's Cellar Door, and is the perfect spot to capture views of the magnificent Richmond Ranges. Life is laid back here; for the team, it is about staying true to the bracing flavours and stunning vibrancy ingrained by Marlborough's climate and soils.
