Product information

Aperol it is the perfect aperitif that evokes the sociable Italian 'aperitivo' lifestyle, from pre-dinner conversation to an evening with friends and family. It is best enjoyed in its signature serve, the Aperol Spritz, the traditional Italian Aperitivo and the perfect drink to start the evening.
Its light, refreshing bitter-sweet taste has been starting conversations since 1919.
Lightly alcoholic, Aperol is a magical infusion of bitter and sweet orange, mix of herbs and roots.

To make the perfect Aperol Spritz, fill a large wine glass with ice. Add 3 parts of Prosecco (75ml) followed by two parts of Aperol (50ml) with 1 part soda water (25ml). Stir and garnish with a slice of orange. Salute!

History

Aperol was launched in 1919 at the Padua International Fair. Created by the Barbieri brothers, Aperol soon became one of the Italians' favourite liqueur. It is light on alcohol at only 11 1 per cent by volume, but has a rich, complex taste deriving from the infusion of a blend of high-quality herbs and roots. The original recipe has remained unchanged and a secret to this day. In the immediate post-war period and in later years, Aperol became popular all over Italy, particularly with young people, people with an active lifestyle and women. Nowadays, Aperol is distributed in dozens of countries worldwide.

Regional Information

Aperol is Italy's number one spirit. The signature serve, Aperol Spritz originated in the Venito region of Italy. The simple recipe of Prosecco, Aperol and soda water is called the Aperol Spritz and over 300,000 Aperol Spritz are served everyday around Venice in cafes and bars.

Like a trip to Milan

Skip the airport queue and add this to your Prosecco, then pop a video of Italy on Youtube. Great value, regularly reduced.

Really love this drink

I was given this to review and love the taste, especially as a long drink e.g. with prosecco, reminds me of my travels in Italy

Lovely Summer Cocktail

Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I can finally add a review after sampling this product during this hot summer. Great with prosecco to make a summer cocktail. Can be a bit overpowering, not too much needed!
