not very good quality
I only bought this because, my string tin is missing and i need to tie my Christmas puddings. I was very disappointed, it is made of a loosely spun Cotton, that comes undone as soon as it is cut. Their is precious little string and is very loosely wrapped into soft balls, that constantly unravel after opening. Fortunately I dont think it will last long.

Nice string, thick and good quality. Simply just string. I used it to hang balloons for my partners birthday and they worked really well.

As with most things from M&S they are small. Width of each ball is 40mm, thread is approx. 65 yards very weak so needs double thread. knot in one ball I had, over all cheap and nasty. Doubt it could even be used for candle wicks.
Just terrible !
Totally useless... not strong enough, you can break by just pulling with not much force. Not good for a parcel to post and it breaks at the first twist !!
good stuff
Strong string for parcels & tying my freezer bags as I've never used those ties provided happy in the knowledge the string won't puncture packaging. Also used to tie in poultry legs & unruly meat joints before cooking. 2 balls last a long time.
