The Balvenie DoubleWood Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl
£49
£70 per litreProduct information
To produce The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old, David Stewart MBE takes whisky that has spent at least 12 years in traditional whisky casks, American oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads to mellow the maturing spirit and Impart warming layers of vanilla spiciness. He then moves it to Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months to increase complexity, bringing fruity, honeyed depths to the resulting Single Malt. The whisky is then transferred to large oak vessels called “tuns” for 3-4 months to allow the whiskies to “marry”. This is an excellent introduction to a matured whisky for your collection and would also make a welcome gift for a loved one.

My Husbands Favourite
I only buy this for my husband on special occasions or when reduced. He says it takes great and very smooth. His Dad likes it too and they always have it Christmas.
delicious
Its the first time Ive tried this whisky, I got it as a birthday present, Ive tried quite a few single malts but this is the nicest by far
delicious
Lovely, smooth and maybe slightly sweet but not as far as other spirits go. First had as a gift from a work thing but have purchased several times since. Great with an ice cube or neat.
Smooth and woody
This whisky is a real favourite and great with a couple of pieces of ice. The flavour is smooth and rich and you can really taste the barrel ageing.
About Perfect
I've given this five stars, not because there is no finer whisky, but because there is no finer whisky for this price. Very smooth, but still a great deal of flavour. There's no foul peaty aftertaste, as is all too common. I was always a Glenfiddich man until I tried this, the difference is night and day. Buy it once, and you'll never look back.
smooth
