Preparation and Usage
100g Pasta
- 1 Litre water
- 7g Salt - Bring water to a fast boil and add salt. Add pasta and cook for 9 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain and serve.

350g Barilla Integrale Pennette Rigate
200g courgettes
150g aubergines
100g cherry tomatoes
4 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic
Salt and pepper
Fresh parsley
Peel the aubergines and cut julienne-style with the courgettes. Soften the cherry tomatoes in a frying pan with a little oil and pinch of salt. Using another frying pan, heat the oil with a garlic clove, then add the aubergines and courgettes. Cook for 3 minutes, add the cherry tomatoes, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook the Barilla Integrale Pennette Rigate in plenty of salted water, drain when "al dente" and add them to the vegetables, garnishing with fresh chopped parsley.

For authentic al dente pasta, boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 9 minutes. For pasta that's more tender, boil for an additional minute. My favourite penne
This is my favourite pasta, and the fact that its brown never registers - its just delicious and cooks perfectly al dente every time. I love it with a puttanesca sauce and grated parmesan

One of the best wholemeal pasta
Barilla is well known in Italy and I have been eating Barilla since I was a kid a long time ago. Quality is just as good as more expensive brands. Penne is my favourite.

What happened?
This used to be the best wholewheat pasta on the market, nearly indistinguishable from the regular stuff. Sadly, I discovered in my recent order that Barilla has reverted to the same gritty orally punishing recipe of all the other brown pasta makers.
Protective wrapper
Why can't you add a protective wrapper around it?! It's seriously unhygienic!!
