Tasting Notes
This wine is powerful and full-bodied, 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Its complex flavour profile and being a more balanced style makes this wine a pleasure. This wine is excellent when accompanied with meat or cheese
History
Les Lauriers's vineyard is situated on south facing slopes of the Montagne Saint-Emilion Appellation. This vineyard is adjacent to the ¿château des Laurets¿, which was bought in 2003 by Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, aiming at developing the estate's great potential. A large renovation work of the cellar was undertaken in spring 2004 to offer modern and efficient facilities.
Regional Information
Vineyard is situated on south facing slopes of the Montagne Saint-Emilion Appellation and is adjacent to the ¿château des Laurets¿. Les Lauriers is getting the same care and attention to detail guided by a high requirement of quality. The soil of this wine estate is made from rocks of limestone and clay which is very suitable from the Merlot grape variety (which is dominating this blended wine). This excellent clay and limestone soil gives the Saint-Emilion Merlot its distinctive taste.
