This recipe, or rather the method, was suggested to me by my agent Ed Victor, and so is known familiarly as Ed's Tender Rump. The method is this: instead of marinating the meat before cooking, you marinate it after; it really does keep it extraordinarily tender. Please feel free to play around with the herbs; I think Ed himself uses oregano rather than the thyme I love. I like this with broccoletti or those leggy tender-stem broccoli. A couple of packets, lightly cooked, drained, and sitting in the marinade after the beef's out and sliced, is the most heavenly accompaniment. And I can't tell you how good both steak and broccoli are cold later.
Fresh lemons and mint bring a zingy flavour to this simple dish. Juices from the duck are packed full of flavour so don't forget the dipping bread.
Roast chicken is always a crowd pleaser and this recipe has an Italian twist with Sacla' Classic Basil Pesto, fresh lemon thyme and plenty of Parmesan. Delizioso!

Simon’s fragrant and spicy Lamb Massaman curry is a Thai interpretation of a Persian dish. The word Massaman is thought to be an archaic version of ‘Muslim’. This dish will make extra curry paste, which you can store in the fridge for a couple of weeks. This curry contains a whopping 12 chillies – if you want a less spicy version just use fewer. Part of our Daily Brunch with Ocado recipe collection.
Spicy jollof rice is a simple, tasty all-in-one recipe that’s popular in many parts of West Africa. Succulent chicken thighs are browned then cooked in a tomato, chilli and ginger sauce. Then you pop in the basmati rice and cook on a very low heat, adding colourful sliced peppers and okra on top, too. So you can bring one big tasty pot to the table and let everyone dig in!
