Fresh always better if available but..
Obviously fresh is always better but if cooked slower and for longer then the flavour from these can be decent enough
handy to have in the cupboard, however...
Not the greatest flavour - which is to be expected as its dried but handy to have in the cupboard
Disappointed
Not an ingredient I would use often and was disappointed with the lack of flavour in the dish, will use fresh in future when needed
Review response
Supplier's Response - We're sorry you have been disappointed with our product. Dried lemongrass is quite a delicate ingredient and does perform quite differently compared to the wet puree or fresh. The flavour of dried lemongrass comes out slowly during the cooking rather than an immediate punch of flavour you would find from fresh.
not much flavour
not great taste or quality
not that versatile
I had hoped that this would be useful to have in the cupboard, as I don't use lemongrass that frequently in my cooking. However, I've now realised that the recipes I do use require the lemongrass to be minced, or trimmed, which this product doesn't lend itself to! So check if you can use it whole before you buy this!
Poor substitute
Because fresh lemongrass isn't sold everywhere i thought id try the dried version, just like cutting cardboard, think i will have to keep looking for the fresh, waste of money
