perfectly perfect
the other reviews do not make any sense these are not chewy at all they are great jelly babies, nothing to moan about at all
Shrinkflation at worst
Not only has the formulation of these once great babies has changed, definitely not the gooey babies of old but nasty chewy babies, but now 50g less in carton with at least 50p up in price. Are they still made in Sheffield? The packaging is ambiguous stating ‘packed in UK’ This company was ok after Cadbury bought it but the sale to the Americans the Bassetts range has only gone one-way. Downhill. What a shame.
What's happened!
Used to love Jelly Babies but lately they have been sooo chewy, thought it might have just been the 'Chick' ones I bought whilst these have been out of stock but no, these are the same.
Rubbery
Buy lots because theyre good for low blood sugar but have noticed last couple of boxes have been very chewy, more like Wine Gums. Hope its just a manufacturing blip and theyll soon be back to the Bassets recipe.
Loved by all
Bought for my grand children, then discovered that their mothers had demolished them!
As good as always
Sure, they're high in sugar but that's the point. This isn't like adding sugar to pasta sauces or curries where you don't expect it - you buy sweets, you want sugar (definitely prefer to have natural sugars to artificial sweeteners). These taste just like childhood and they've still got that delicious fruity flavour and that wonderful dusting of starch. Don't seem to have "shrunk" like many chocolate bars etc either! Lovely.
