Andalucia, Spain
Tortas de Acetite are traditional Spanish biscuits made with extra virgin olive oil. The Gavino family has beed making this renowned olive oil biscuit for over 100 years. At the heart of their method is a detail that has not changed one bit since the beginning: the dough for each biscuit is still shaped by hand, meaning that no two biscuits look the same. What is the same in every biscuit, is the satisfying crunchy texture, fine aroma and pure flavour.

Pleasant Enough But Prefer Other Brands
These were nice but I have preferred other brands of the same thing far more.
Traditional Spanish “tortas de aceite”
Describing these are “biscuits” is a bit misleading, although I’m not sure which other English word could be used. They’re very thin, which makes them really crunchy, and with a distinct aniseed flavour. This particular variety has roasted, crushed almonds on top. I’m Spanish in origin and absolutely love them, as besides being delicious they bring back lots of happy childhood memories. Word of warning: as they’re quite fragile you need to be careful or they’ll end up all over the place! Also if you don’t like roasted almonds that are a bit burnt, maybe best to choose the plain variety with no almonds, also sold at Ocado.
do not recommend
These are more of a thin, crisp flatbread rather than a biscuit - the chopped almond and sugar topping can be found mainly in the wrapper rather than on the biscuit itself and taste terrible because the almonds are burnt rather than toasted!
Ok but Nothing Special
The packaging makes it look like it belongs in a delicatessen so unfortunately, I expected more from it. The biscuit itself is a thin 'feuilleté' base without much taste, on the other hand, the crushed almonds over it were tasty but did not stick to the biscuit base.
love these
love these... however I have seen them at £2.99 in my local deli. what's going on Ocado?
