Brindisa Ortiz Prime Sardines "a la Antiqua" 140g
£6.30
£4.50 per 100gProduct information
Located on Spain's north coast, Conservas Ortiz have processed fish by artisan methods since 1891. All their sardines are sustainably fished.
Ortiz Sardines ""a la Antiqua"" are made to a 19th century recipe. Large plump sardines are fried in olive oil and hand packed. (On average there are four per tin.)
These sardines are some of the very finest. Omega-3s rarely taste so delicious. Sardines ""a la Antiqua"" take pride of place in main course salads and make special tapas.
You can even ""lay down"" a few tins. With sardines of this quality the flavour gets even better with time. Some people keep them for up to 10 years.

epic
is it sad times when I review tinned sardines umprompted? Or is this what happens when you hit 40? chunky, not too salty tasty fish. THese retain shape when cooking. i like them with courgetti but also on toast. i have tried a lot to get close to the waitrose lemons ones and these are nicer tbh. Ocado will probably discontinue them like they seam to do with most decent imo quality produce these days. stocking up as on offer. you wont look back my fishy friends.
proxy 5 star rating
I sent these to my dad who lives abroad. Hes a passionate consumer of sardines. Ideally fresh, but often tinned. He really does rate these highly. Hes had a couple of tins from me when Ive popped over and have another on order.
Much too expensive
Lovely sardines, but the giant tin I saw in a deli recently (and I mean a tin as large as a small tyre) was only £40, this makes these small tins massively expensive. Wouldn't recommend until price is lower.
Excellent sardines
This is one of our favourites, sardines are excellent
Five stars for sardines, one star for price
We love these sardines but now buy them in our local Planet Organic (which is not known for its low prices) where they cost £3.69. Not sure why they are so expensive on Ocado?
Excellent sardines
These are the best sardines available on Ocado. Gorgeous, silvery fish. Pure umami. The price, however, is unjustifiable.
