Really Special
A very smooth and very easy to drink Whisky and to my taste different. I first tried this in a Waitrose branch when they were offering tasters, I liked it very much and although I have always drunk Whisky neat I followed the advice of the person offering the tasters and tried it with Highland Spring Water. He was saying very correctly, I thought, when I followed his advice, that it brought out a different and subtle flavour. He was very insistent that it had to be Highland Spring Water. I did buy in Waitrose and later on Ocado!
Absolutely wonderful
Beautiful toasty flavours of caramel and ginger. This is heaven in a glass.
One of my favourites
This is one of the best Islay malts in my view and usually pretty reasonably priced. It has a pronounced peaty flavour - some people describe it as 'iodine' - so if you're used to Highland malts this is something entirely different. Once you acquire the taste though, there's no going back!
A rich, fruity and lingering sensation
Having tried and enjoyed this several times as an evening finisher, in pubs and hotels, I was curious to see if this whisky would sip as well at home, starting from sober, as a first drink. The answer is a resounding YES! A deep coppery gold in colour, you know youre in for a treat on first sight. The nose is like a Christmas pudding, full of spice, crystallized zesty fruits. The mouthfeel is syrupy on the lips and tongue, and the flavour is potent but balanced and lingers for minutes after it goes down - a measure lasts ages, because all you need is a drop at a time to fill the senses for minutes. A new favorite, this whisky has now found its place in my Top 5, alongside heavyweights like The Glenrothes, Balvenies Double Wood, Macallen 10 and Lagavulin 16.
Nice enough single malt
A nice whiskey, smooth taste
yum
Smooth, very little burn if any at all. But string from the bottle so I let it mellow with some ice for a bit. I like glenfarclas too which I find similar but this is definitely my preferred drink for now.
