Additives.
You wouldn't accept additives like this in baby food, so why is it OK here? I'd much rather it contained just a little sugar for the few occasions our infant needs it, rather than forcing down this awful stuff.
Staple but why the price hike?
Its a staple in our house with two young children but so disappointed to see the price hike and will now buy elsewhere for a significant saving.
The only Calpol variety I use
I find it inexplicable that ordinary pink Calpol which contains E122 - an ingredient banned in many countries for its harmful side effects - is so popular in British shops. So much so that this safer alternative is extremely difficult to source at times. PLEASE Ocado, please stock this more consistently so that informed parents can be sure to give our babies & toddlers pain relief without the nasties!
Seems to work
Now that my little one has learned to say Calpol he requests it every time hes teething or ill. I bought this one because the original one was out of stock. He doesnt seem to mind the taste, it doesnt seem to upset his stomach and it seems to help him feel better so Id probably get it again. Hes not bothered either way about the colour, so thats one less additive at least. Im not a big fan of sweeteners, but at least its better for his teeth whilst still being palatable.
Contains MALITOL, and causes a bad stomach
I was wondering why my 4 month old was having enormous, leaking-through-clothing poops 5 times a day (and bad gas) when she had her first tooth coming through. Then I put two and two together and realised this contains malitol! Sure enough, I switched to full sugar Calpol and the bad stomach stopped. Time to switch to something not as terrible for the digestive tract, Calpol. Not a good ingredient for a tiny babys stomach to deal with.
Empty box
Ocado sent me an empty Calpol box.
