History
Jean-Marie Calvet establishes the Calvet company in Tain l'Hermitage : (Rhone valley) in 1818. JM Calvet sets up in the heart of Bordeaux in 1823. Jean Calvet, the founder's great-grandson, sets up Calvet in Burgundy in 1889. GCF Group extends the Calvet range into Loire and Alsace appellations in the last 10 years. Specialist in the wines of Bordeaux and selecting the best «cuvées» from other principal French wine areas, Calvet is a French brand, distributed in more than 110 countries.

Vinification Details
Traditional vinification. The grapes are harvested when just ripe, destemmed, crushed and fermented for 6 to 12 days at a temperature kept within 32°C and pressed gently.

rich and smooth

Im reviewing this as I was sent it by Ocado for free. I found it smooth and rich in flavour. It was also enjoyed by our guests on its own, rather than accompanying a meal.

I'm reviewing this wine as I received a free sample from Ocado. An average wine. Quite fruity and drinkable but not a favourite.

It's okay

I'm reviewing this as i received a free sample. I do like a glass of Malbec in the winter! but I have to say I just found this okay. I've had other Malbecs cheaper which for me really do hit the spot, with a smoother, frutier feel where this one misses those for me.

Really fruity

I have been asked to revue this by Ocado. Best opened for 15 minutes before drinking. Flavours of plums, vanilla, blueberries, raspberries, in this smooth, complex easy drinking wine. A slight bite of blackcurrant.

Quite nice

I am reviewing this as I received it free from Ocado. I actually quite liked this. Not too overwhelmingly sweet or fruity like some malbecs. Very drinkable.
