A fruit-driven and crisp 2020 white wine from the most renowned Spanish wine region Rioja, crafted by the leading winery Campo Viejo. Pairs perfectly with lemon and herb chicken breast, seafood, goats cheese, creamy pasta, summer salads and tofu & veggie stir fry. A great wine for aperitif moments and dinners with friends. Best served at 8-10°C.
Tasting Notes:
A very intense nose, with elegant notes of fruit and white flowers from the Viura, complemented with tropical aromas that Verdejo exhibits in Rioja, giving the wine much more intensity and complexity. On the palate, surprisingly intense fruit, excellent texture and very good acidity, coming largely from the white Tempranillo Blanco, making it both refreshing and delicious.

Undoubtedly one of the best wineries in the world, Campo Viejo is located right in the heart of Rioja, Northern Spain, and is one of the leading wineries in sustainability and innovation. 100% of its electricity comes from renewable sources, and it's the first winery to be certified by Wineries for Climate Protection. Campo Viejo is committed to reduce its carbon footprint by implementing initiatives such as reducing the bottle-weight which has resulted in 30% less carbon emissions, careful water management (average water used to produce a single bottle of Campo Viejo is 0.80L as compared to the Spanish average of 2.25L) and protecting the biodiversity amongst other projects.

Vinification Details
A highly protected harvest to keep all the grape aromatic precursors. Short maceration, in contact with the skins, followed by light pressing. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at temperatures kept in the range of 12 °C to 16 °C to maximise aromas. Contact with fine lees after fermentation adds complexity to the wine and the palate gains in texture and weight.

Tasted awful
Bought on the back of all the good reviews, perhaps I got a duff bottle but this was undrinkable sadly.

Tasty \x26 refreshing
A perfectly balanced crisp white wine with citrusy taste, not too acidic. A great all rounder at a great price, I’d recommend

Really enjoyed this white Rioja
Having only ever tried red Rioja before, this was new to me and Im certainly glad I tried it. Really fresh and fruity and I would recommend for with fish dishes or on its own with a few nibbles.
