Regional Information
The grapes for our Merlot were selected from premier California vineyards by our Winemaker Beth Liston. The warm and dry weather combined with minimal heat spikes make the ideal growing season. Canopy management played a key role in allowing just the right amount of sunlight on the berries, resulting in a perfect balance of vibrant flavours and aromas.

Vinification Details
The grapes for our Dark Horse Merlot were harvested at optimum ripeness to ensure extraction of rich colours and velvety tannings. Warmer temperatures around 85°-88°F were used during fermentation in order to achieve more intense flavours and aromatics. After the fermentation was complete, the wine was aged on oak to add complexity and balance.

I shouldve read the description a little closer but its way too sweet for me.

Sorry, not for me

Disappointed, I didn't find this rich, or full or jammy as described - it seems very thin to me, and tastes strongly of alcohol.

Since the pandemic we havent been able to do our wine shopping in France, so we have been looking for some decent red wines in the UK. This one comes out top of the list so far! Its not watery like some and has a richer texture to drink, lots of flavour but not too strong. It will be a regular buy now :)

This is by far the best Merlot I've tasted, smooth with no after bite, perfect for chilling around the fire and them lazy Sundays

easy to drink

maybe a bit too easy. very smooth. not too strong tasting. I'm not a wine expert so can't do the lingo but I like this one very much
