Perfectly intense and balanced Extra Mature Cheddar with a firm, flinty texture; typically matured for 24 months
The perfect all round cheddar; raising the everyday meal to a new level, delivering joy on a cheeseboard, or simply to be savoured with your favourite crackers and a glass of full bodied red wine.
Designed to deliver a slightly crunchy texture; this is due to the formation of naturally occurring calcium lactate crystals which are found in high quality aged cheddars. These appear as white flecks, developing further as the cheese matures, enhancing both the character and the mouthfeel of the cheese.
Davidstow film is not currently recyclable by local authorities, but we're working on it. In the meantime, please recycle your cheese film packaging through Terracycle®'s alternative recycling solution.

Beautiful, strong cheese.
tasty but not crunchy
I bought this because it said it has those crunchy crystals, but it doesn't. also it's a really odd shape - very long, standard width but incredibly thin. taste is nice though.
Strong cheese with a great texture.
Lovely, strong cheese. Excellent cooked and un-cooked. My favourite is cheese on toast in the air fryer on seeded sourdough - amazing. Highly recommend.
NOT Crackler 18 months
My favourite 18-month matured Crackler has been replaced by this 24-month one that is too strong on my mouth to eat raw. Please bring back the 18-month. All previous glowing reviews are for the 18-month, NOT the new 24-month.
Best mature cheese out there!
I’m a cheese lover, and have tasted a lot of extra mature cheeses over my lifetime. And this is by far the best out there. Creamy but tarte enough that you need for an extra mature. It’s not a good melting cheese for things like toasted sandwiches. But absolutely delicious on a sandwich or in a jacket potato.
Best cheddar out there
Having recently come back from Cheddar, I can say this is the best cheddar Ive had. Lovely strong flavour with little salt crystals. Not cheap but worth the money
