OUR
LOVE FOR FOOD INSPIRES US TO GO FURTHER We've been farming organically for over 35 years, meaning our animals enjoy their natural grass and forage-based diet, growing into strong and healthy animals, free from unnecessary chemicals, antibiotics and GM feed. We choose British breeds who thrive in their native landscape and encourage healthy biodiversity on our farm. We avoid waste of any kind, so manure and kitchen waste compost are returned to the soil as rich natural fertilisers. We have built our own abattoir to ensure the highest animal welfare and reduced food miles, which results in better tasting meat, and we spread our message far beyond the boundaries of our own fields. Each step of our journey is made with a conscience, and a love for food. |

Preparation and Usage
For
perfectly cooked lamb, our head chef recommends: Slow-Cook: Dice Lamb & Neck Fillet: Preheat oven to 170°C (150°C fan)/Gas mk 3. Cut fillets into 2-3 pieces. Toss in a little seasoned flour. Heat a little oil in your casserole dish and fry the lamb over a medium heat until well-browned. Add seasonal vegetables, cook for 5 minutes. Add 400ml of good chicken or lamb stock, some wine (if you like), cover and pop in the oven for 1-2 hours until tender (neck fillet may need up to 30 minutes more). You may need to top up liquid during cooking if required. Season and garnish with a good handful of chopped fresh herbs before serving. Wash hands, knives and surfaces thoroughly before and after preparing raw meat. |

tasty but small pieces
I had my Ocado lamb steaks substituted for this (£5 difference) I slow cooked it and made a stew, it was ok not packed with flavour and the pieces are quite small. At £10 I would not buy it for making a stew again
Awful
Smells awful, grey and tastes horrid. It was a substitute and I'm very disappointed.
Yummy
Used this for a lamb curry and it was delicious. Really tender meat after just an hour and a half of cooking. Looks like a lot of fat on the meat, but just leave it on, it adds flavour and keeps the meat soft. I was a bit concerned when I started cooking the meat as it had an off-putting smell (but weirdly didn't smell when I opened the pack). However, I persevered and the meat was fab. Very expensive though, so glad I got this as a substitute for the non organic lamb on flash sale.
Awful
Awful. Had it as a substitute product, never again!
Bad quality
Another daylesford product which is very very poor. I cannot recommend.
Made an excellent Rogan Josh
I used Spice Tailor sauce mix with this lamb, slow cooking it for longer than suggested and it turned into a delicious, tender and flavourful dish. Good dinner for two.
