Product information

So, you like Champagne? Let's face it, most people do. So how do you make a distinguished choice that reflects your exquisite taste in the finer things in life? After all, there are so many Champagnes to choose from.
Well of course you'll want a champagne with heritage, like Champagne Deutz, which can count on more than 180 years of experience. You'll want a champagne that exudes the sort of prestige associated with the most admired Grandes Marques houses, such as Champagne Deutz, and is endorsed by the finest hotels in the land, including The Ritz, The Connaught, and The Savoy. You'll want a champagne of exceptional quality, like Deutz, that has been crafted with the guiding principal of ‘quality above all else'. And then you might just fancy something a little more exclusive, not available on every corner or on every shelf - a champagne, you could say, for those ‘in the know'.

Tasting Notes
The wine initially displays notes of white flowers, toast, marzipan and ripe pears. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and elegant with the freshness of Chardonnay and richness of Pinot Noir. Overall, the wine is well-rounded with a fruity finish.
History
One of the oldest of Champagne's prestigious Grandes Marques houses. Champagne Deutz has been making fine champagnes since 1838. The house has upheld the traditions of fine Champagne making handed down through five generations. Owning a 42ha of its own vineyards, Deutz selects only top rated grapes from the finest crus of Champagne. The wines are carefull aged in the chalk cellars far beneath the village of Ay. The unique bottle shape guarantees the provenance of every bottle.
Regional Information
The grapes are harvested in Ay, Marne Valley, Cotes des Blancs, and Montagne de Reims, with over 80% of the grapes coming from vineyards that are rated Premier or Grand Cru. For some years the company has employed a policy of sustainable viticulture, cutting down on the use of chemicals, reducing yields and increasing grape quality.

Vinification Details
Only the first press must, cuvée, is used. The wine is fermented in small tanks, with each plot being vinified separately, all the wine undergoes malo-lactic fermentation. After the assemblage, the wines are left to age for around 3 years. Brut Classic represents the distinctive house style of elegance and finesse. This non-vintage Champagne is matured according to traditional methods from a blend of several vintages from twenty of the best crus until it reaches a perfect balance of flavour.

This is one of the nicest Champagnes I have ever had - almost up there with top Champagne house brands which are significantly more expensive. Biscuity, brioche flavour and not too sweet

Excellent

Was recommended this rather unknown wine by a sommelier/wine buyer a few year back, it has the most delicious taste. Although not stocked by many, Ocado always have stock plus they have regular promotions on here too, so buy in bulk on special, it makes a very affordable quality champagne. Cheers!

Highly recommend

Tried this based on good reviews here and in a few other places when I did the research and it didn't disappoint. Really nice flavour, very drinkable, but quite subtle.

Gorgeous champagne

This is a delicious champagne from a small independent producer. Ive taken one star off because if you want to give it as a gift then it doesnt come with the box as shown, which is disappointing. Why depict it with a box if it isnt delivered in one?
