Product information

'The Wine of the Kings and the King of the Wines.' Louis XIV

Classified first growth since 1732 in the legendary Tokaj region in Hungary (a Unesco World Heritage Site), Disznoko produces unique sweet wines with perfect balance between the purity of the fruit, the freshness of the grape varietals and the power of the botrytis. The vinification of Tokaji Aszu is unique in the world: the Noble Rot affected grapes are picked one by one, then soaked in must or wine in the proportion determined by the number of "Puttonyos" (historical measure equivalent to one harvesting basket). Disznoko 5Puttonyos shows the perfect balance between richness of the botrytis and the acidity of the fruit making this wine ideal to serve with slightly spiced food, soft cheeses and dessert. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif or at the end of a meal.

Good Wine

Personally, this is a bit too sweet, not as subtle as Sauternes.

Delicious sweet cheese wine!

If you want something a bit lighter than port, this hits the spot with a cheese board. Absolutely delicious sweet Tokaji and a step above Sauternes.

little known pleasure

Tokaji is a very special desert wine. Who knew that something so luscious could come from Hungary?! Reset expectations. You need the 5 Puttonyos stuff (long story). It's sweet but not cloying. Full of blood orange flavour. Far better value than Sauternes. Yum yum.
