yummy
kids love this one in their lasagne!
Kids like it
Handy to have in the cupboard on standby.
convenient
I am a lazy cook when it comes to sauces to this is ideal for making our weekly lasagne, yes it smells a bit odd when you open the jar but tastes nice in the lasagne
Horrible
Tastes like old fashioned salad cream...not what you want in your lasagne!
Terrible strange taste
I thought I would try a ready-made white sauce for my lasagne, needing to save time.... but I wish I hadnt bothered now. This is the first time I have tried a ready-made one and I certainly wont be buying this again. It is nothing like the simple white sauce I usually make, using milk, butter and flour - it tastes extremely artificial and strange. My first thought was Heinz salad cream mixed with vinegar, it really has a very unappealing, tainted taste and even with plenty of grated cheese on top, the awful flavour came through. Steer clear! It totally spoilt my lasagne. Dreadful.
Quick standby sauce!
YES homemade is better but when you can't be bothered this is a perfect substitute!
