Bland
Each to their own but pancakes were doughy and tasteless
Always good
My go to flour for baking - I use it for pancakes, scones and pastry and they always come out well, with a nice 'nutty' flavour.
Brilliant used for the right purpose
This is a great, very fine, flour. As others have noted it is not designed for bread or crumble but is great where you would otherwise use a fine white flour. That said I actually use about 20% white, 20% of this and the rest a coarser wholemeal in my soda bread as my mix of choice!
another great flour from Doves
I use this in place of all white flour for cookies, cakes and crumble toppings and I find it works really well. My crumble toppings contain combos of jumbo oat flakes, ground almonds or chopped nuts anyway so I cant speak on behalf of the non-clumpiness that one might want to achieve from a crumble topping. This is a regular item in my shopping basket.
Awful
This is poor flour it's like dust. My baking crumbled because of this flour. Never again
Sandy Crumble
I use plain wholemeal flour for all my fruit crumble toppings, however have never used this one before. it may be good for some purposes, but I found it difficult to get it to 'clump' well for a good rubbly topping. It would only go as far as coarse sand. It also was quite a sandy texture to eat. For what I have left I think it will be best mixed with ordinary plain white flour, possible two thirds wholemeal to one third plain white. I generally buy all my flours from Doves Farm.
