very poor red colour
It was more pink than red and I used the whole tube. My cake was more of a chocolate cake rather than red velvet
Fine for cake, not for buttercream
I added one entire tube for a small red velvet cake (and it did turn out a decent red after baking, even though it looked more pink as batter), however trying to get the buttercream red did not work at all and it's more of a shocking pink.
CARMINES
Not suitable for vegetarians, please stock a vegetarian one.
not red... just pink
bad quality
Not suitable for vegetarians
Can Ocado please stock a red food dye suitable for vegetarians. This one is made from beetles. Yet another item necessitating a trip to Tesco.
Disaster!
Like a previous reviewer - my red velvet cake, (which Ive baked very successfully on a number of occasions over the past 20 years) was a pinkish brown at best, and tasted strongly of the dye. Had to throw it all away. Not only a waste, but a big disappointment for my daughters birthday.
