tastes horrible!
just put this on my Christmas cake now and after curring off the edges I tasted a bit and it tastes vile! I think it's actually ruined my Christmas cake (3 months in the making ) hoping I can put home made royal icing over the top to cover up the taste
Rubbish!
Having always rolled my own icing, I thought I'd save time by buying this, but it was a mistake. The icing sheet is too thin, and in the 24 hours since I iced the cake, it has split along the top edge and the icing on the side of the cake has started to slide down. Really disappointed
Not immediately clear its a circle!!
Im sure this is a great product, but unfortunately discovered the night before my sons birthday party that its for a circular cake. My sons cake is a square, and theres insufficient icing to cover it. Aaaaargh!
Works perfectly
I've bought this a few times, and it works really well at covering a cake, with great results each time.
gloopy mess
I thought I would save myself time but this took more time and effort to try and smooth it out (which I couldnt do). In the process of trying to smooth it it just seemed to get thinner so you could see the marzipan colour underneath. It ended up looking a buttery yellow colour. It was a gluey texture which almost melted itself off the cake. I didnt like it but to be fair the supermarket own one I tried was only marginally better.
It is store bought fondant
So it is basically “edible” chemistry but besides that it unrolled perfectly, putting it on the cake was as easy ad it gets and my guests though it was a store bought cake. So buy it for a bit of fun but don’t eat it if you like healthy food.
