Nice oil

I bought this last week for £25 and there was no offer or discount displayed. This week it is still £25 — which is decent value for money — only it's showing a previous price of £32.60. What's with the disingenuous and deceitful "discount"? I know this is neither specific to or limited to Ocado and that all retailers use this tactic. I've also seen retailers who promote "discounted prices" that are actually higher than the original price was, before it was "discounted". Now I'm having to check my previous receipts, for the purchase price AND weight/item count, of each item in my trolley, to see how much I paid, last time I bought it, how much it weighed and/or how many items came in the pack (if it was something that had smaller packets). Since I have to waste my time doing this, to avoid the skulduggery that retailers and their suppliers are using — which has been neologised as "shrinkflation" — to further line their already well lined pockets, I figure I may as well point out these fake discounts, promotions and/or offers in each product's review. As an aside, it has already been said, but I would like to repeat for those who are struggling to use the oil straight from the tin: buy a funnel, if you don't already own one and use it to pour the oil into a smaller glass bottle. That should be a pretty obvious thing to figure out. Personally, I use VOSS 800mL water bottles, once I've finished the water, as you can easily drop whole cloves of garlic, as well as any other herbs you like, and let the oil naturally soak up their aromas and flavours, without having to heat it up. It works, and it's great! Another tip, pour 250mL each of balsamic vinegar and olive oil into a 500mL glass bottle. Then give it a good shake for around 30-60sec, do this about 4-6 times, spread out over the day, for 2-3 days and you will notice the two will stop separating, becoming one and leaving you with a really delicious* salad dressing, or base dressing, without all the extra preservatives and sugars they put in pre-made dressings. You can keep it in the cupboard and add other flavours, if you want too. But it's best to leave this as is, and only add extras separately, to avoid any of them spoiling the base dressing, if they have a shorter shelf-life. * NB. This will also depend on your choice of balsamic vinegar. Try to get one that isn't too thin/watery.

Have you Got A Funnel?

I got this for £19 on special offer, great value. Oil is fine it's Berio. 1st things 1st do you have a funnel or at push measuring jug with spout? Because you won't be able to pour from the can for cooking because of the bad spout design & placement. 2nd Do you have bottle or bottles to decant the oil into? If not then don't buy until you do.

Very good value

The best purchase ever and very good value. It would be nice if they put one of those spouts in with it

Spilling? Then you\x27re doing it wrong!

I'm only commenting here because of the many comments relating to this! So here's a free life hack: You shouldn't try to use such a massive bottle to pour directly when cooking! You should decant it CAREFULLY into a much smaller bottle to then use and measure! Much easier! If it's too big for you to decant carefully and safely, either get some help or buy smaller, more manageable containers for yourself. Great product! Haven't bought any from Ocado yet! Waiting until they are more competitive for where I buy it from currently.

very hard to pour

while the oil is good quality, it is very hard to pour without any spillage on the side. I always end up wasting a lot of oil, and judging by the other comments, I'm not the only one
