HOW TO ENJOY
The GAIL’s Currant & Sour Cherry Sourdough is a moreish loaf – add extra lusciousness by lightly toasting and spreading liberally with salted butter. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, add a thin layer of Marmite to contrast with the natural sweetness of the dried berries.
STORAGE
Baked fresh and never with any preservatives, we recommend storing GAIL’s sourdough in a cool, dry place. To keep the bread for longer, slice immediately and store in an airtight container in the freezer, taking out slices and toasting, as desired.
Towards the end of its life, we recommend transforming the loaf into French toast or bread and butter pudding.

Brand
We bake our loaves daily by hand with natural ingredients, and though we’re always innovating, our baking is based on time-honoured techniques and our decades-old starters.
Nothing gives us as much pleasure as a freshly baked, lovingly crafted loaf.
Our first GAIL’s bakery opened in London’s Hampstead High Street in 2005. And now we’re bringing our neighbourhood bakery even closer to you, making good bread more widely available to our community.
Though we’ve grown over the years, our philosophy has remained the same: to make good food that people love, and create bakeries that people want to keep coming back to.

love this
this is really nice, best toasted, but rather expensive for what it is sadly.
Not for me
I bought this on a flash sale. It is full of fruit but I didn't really like it. I ate some toasted and put the remainder in the freezer as I don't like to throw food away. I did struggle to slice it. Nothing wrong with it but I just prefer the ordinary fruit bread.
350g size
So small whe it came so I weighed it! Had before and rock hard so threw water on it and baked for 15 minutes on 200. Left for 4 hours to completely cool.
Brilliant toasted
As per the previous review, this is a bread for toasting. It's absolutely delicious and we wouldn't look at the mass produced fruit bread now. I've knocked a star off just because it's a bit of a challenge to slice through the thick crust but if you do the whole thing and freeze half, then you don't have to think about again until the next time!
Much Better Toasted
This loaf was literally like a very cold brick on delivery! It wasn't enjoyable when sliced and was very dense. However, you need to try this toasted - it's a completely different kettle of fish! Thick slices toasted with plenty of proper salted butter transform this loaf and really brings out the flavours (especially the sour cherries). A revelation!! Originally thinking a big 'NO', but now it's a definite 'YES' to whack under the grill.
Crust like old boot
If you need your teeth out, this bread will do it.
