The legumes, chickpeas and lentils are packed full of nutrients and are both high in vegetable proteins, perfect for anyone following a vegetarian or vegan diet, they are also a great source of fibre and both without gluten.
The addition of 5 cereals, including 4 ancient grains, creates a pasta that is not only tasty and a source of energy but delivers many health benefits and is also gluten free.
The ancient grains included in Garofalo's pasta are
Teff, a source of protein, calcium and iron and high in fibre.
Amaranth, one of the most protein rich of any plant based food and also a source of iron, manganese and fibre.
Sorghum, a whole grain full of nutritional benefits, high in fibre and a good source of antioxidants.
Buckwheat, a seed that doesn't contain any wheat or gluten and a great source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Ancient grains, the staples of many ancient civilisations, are considered to be much more nutritious than many of the refined grains used to today, with higher levels of protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals. Offering a source of nutrients and protein which is great for vegetarians and vegans needing a quality plant protein source.
Garofalo's driving philosophy is that great flavour is everyone's right. The taste of its new legumes and cereals pasta cannot be the same as its wheat pasta because the ingredients are different. This gluten free legumes and cereals pasta has a different flavour, no better or worse just different, it is a taste opportunity for everyone not just those on a gluten free diet.

Breaks up when cooked
Nice earthy flavour and taste but it broke into pieces when cooked and stirred with sauce. Don't think I'll buy again because of that.
Excellent Gluten Free pasta.
Very nutritious pasta but will always be more fragile than past that contains gluten. Excellent for coeliacs.
Unappetising Mush
I purposely undercooked this (6mins instead of 8) as I was using it for a pasta bake. It still broke apart and the pasta bake was a mush, with no whole pieces of pasta left. Basically, there was no pasta-like consistency whatsoever and It tasted like cardboard. The second packet I bought has gone in the bin and I almost never throw food away.

Great flavour and texture
Nice egume protein pasta with a great wholegrain flavour. Do not compare to regular pasta, but as someone with coeliac disease and adventurous tastes this was fab, will buy again when on offer again.
Absolutely disgusting
This pasta is so horrible. Definitely not worth the price tag. Even the normal gluten free pasta is better, and that speaks volumes!
