Product information

-Italian Dry Pasta
-100% Durum Wheat Semolina
-From Gragnano near Naples in Italy
-Suitable for Vegetarians
- Al dente texture after cooking

Garofalo has been making pasta for over 300 years in Gragnano near Naples in Italy, the home of pasta. Made from 100% robust desert durum wheat and shaped using a bronze die gives Garofalo pasta its premium taste and texture.
Garofalo Lumaca Rigata (grooved snails) have a distinctive look similar to that of a snails shell. This shape of pasta is really perfect with rather thick sauces, but liquid enough to allow the sauce to slip into the cleft of the pasta. We think it is ideal for Macaroni Cheese!

Hard to cook

This pasta occasionally floats on top of the water and fails to cook. Even when the pasta sinks properly it takes longer than 10 minutes to cook.

Lovely pasta but takes a while to cook

Excellent pasta as all Garofalo products, but I find it always takes at least a couple of minutes longer than stated cooking time, possibly because it is quite thick?

Great pasta

Very Good as all Garofalo pasta! This shape retains a lot of sauce, so it’s great for saucy dishes such as tomato sauces, cheesy ones etc.

Great pasta!

Great shape for holding lots of sauce. Cooks really well. Love Garofalo pasta and this shape is one of the best. A good size for the kids (aged 18 months & 3 years) too. Highly recommended, a winner in our house!
