Awful GF Sausage Rolls !!
followed the cooking instructions ..... Pastry was anaemic and rock hard on outside, but slimey on the inside. Meat filling was low grade too Dissapointingly Terrible.... NEVER AGAIN Definitaley NOT Genius (Please Genius you really need to START AGAIN with your Pastry recipe, as these are a waste of electricity cooking them... The Cardboard packaging would probably make equally poor pastry, but less slimey !!)
Revolting
As a coeliac of 15 years, these are simply one of the most revolting gluten free offerings I have ever eaten. I followed the cooking instructions, and what came out of the oven were pale, rock solid pastry covering sub par sausage meat. When the roll was cut open, there was a horrible, slimy texture covering the inside of the pastry. Horrific.
not so good
I tried these as they are cheaper than M&S ones which are cooked and ready to warm up. As others have said the genius sausage rolls do not really get a good coloured packet when cooked despite following instructions. I have to say I much prefer M&S gluten free sausage rolls and will continue to choose them.
not very nice
Wouldnt buy again
ok
Didnt go brown despite an egg wash. Bit greasy too. But tolerable. Quite small.
Flaky, peppery and worth the freezer space
Those of us who are gluten free and/or coeliac know the craving for something we don't normally eat and can't find easily on the shelf. These make a good freezer standby for those days of cravings. They are a little pale when cooked as instructed, but they have that flaky pepperiness that makes for a fine sausage roll. And they must be good, as my gluten-guzzling husband often makes comments about how great they smell and look, while I whisk away the tray saying "mine, all mine". But seriously, well worth stocking up on these for times when only a sausage roll will do, and you don't want to fight your way through making gluten free pastry.
