But he's not really that type. The mere sight of Robusta beans or instant coffee crumples his brow and clenches his jaw.
After all, good coffee is never a matter of taking it easy - flavour doesn't just 'Turn Up'. It needs to be cultivated by expert growers, coaxed by obsessive roasters, and given the 'Hooves Up' by the fussiest critic there is.
About This Coffee
A real crowd-pleaser - this is one that will really set off a good meal. Or erase the memory of a bad one. Actually, it's awesome whatever you've eaten. Produced by our partner growers from Takengon and lake Lut Tawar in the Aceh province and bought at the price those farmers deserve, the clean, cocoa and dark chocolate flavours mean you get your chocolate hit, minus the guilt.

Preparation and Usage
(A Quick Brewing Guide)
1. Choose your weapon
Beans, Ground
Grumpy mule coffees are suitable for use in a wide range of brewing equipment. For espresso machines, finely grind your beans or choose espresso grind for best results.
2. Load up X2
Use 2 heaped dessertspoonfuls (those big ones your mum only had out for special occasions) of fresh, ground coffee per cup. If you want to be a nerd about it that's 15g per 250ml of coffee.
Espresso heads, a good dose for our coffee is 14-18g per double shot with an extraction time of about 27 seconds. Just don't count mississipily (watch friends, it'll make sense).
3. Fire!
Allow heated water to come off the boil (about 93-95°) before pouring. It's just enough time to tweet a pic of the pack at a jaunty angle. Serve the coffee immediately once brewed.

Used to love this
I'm wondering what has changed here as I very much enjoyed this coffee for years, but in the last month or two have found it much less enjoyable.
Foul: acidic and under\-roasted
I have written 2 detailed reviews for this item but this very buggy website has lost both. This coffee is very very bad. I am throwing it away. Weak, acid, disgusting.
disappointed
I only drink espressos. I was hoping for something like the Waitrose Sumatran coffee. Sadly it isnt close. Rather nasty taste, without any of interesting flavours. Ive thrown it in the bin after 3 shots
Only buy Organic and this hits the spot!
Delicious and tasty a go to whek on offer.
Strong and flavourful
I drink my coffee black, no sugar, and like it strong with a bit of bitterness but also with a depth of flavours. Not an easy task to find coffee like that, I usually settle for strength over flavour as a compromise. No compromise here for me, lovely flavours that become more noticeable after a few sips. Just the right amount of bitterness too. Delicious!
really tasty
It wasnt very strong, but the flavour was excellent! I can see what they mean by chocolate undertones, very nice and subtle. My favourite.
