Dont save any for me
Bought for my husband who is a great lover of venison.Cut into steaks and frozen on the day of delivery. Defrosted today and bbqd - thank God! The smell was something else and even for husband was a stink too far! All in the bin Im afraid
STANK TO HIGH HEAVEN
The meat stank like raw shit. My dog always appears as soon as I open any meat product and is sniffing at the side of me. On opening this packet he kept his distance and didn’t even enter the kitchen. I’ve never ever smelt venison like this before, took no chances with this, it had to go in the bin, did not want to risk the squits and 🤮!
Ruined Christmas dinner
Mine was off too, ruined Christmas dinner. I followed instructions for cooking and it was completely inedible and went in the bin.
wild venison saddle joint for Christmas
I brought this version saddle joint for Christmas Day and when Took it out of the bag it didn’t smell right? But I washed it off it was better so I wrapped in streaky bacon, as the recipe said and cooked it when out of the oven it smelled gone off like poo and taste the same. So it was not fit to eat so it went in the bin so are Christmas dinner was ruined we Had sausages instead. So you might say Christmas Day was ruined.
Very strong taste
For many the meat would smell / taste off but actually it isn't . I love Venison but it was to strong for me. Like buying lamb and it tastes like mutton. I was really looking forward to it, but did not like it.
great roast
Have bought this many times and always makes a great roast. Occasionally the meat is a little more chewy, but its always deliciousand its a wild animal not factory farmed, so Im happy to accept that it will vary in texture. Very happy Ocado continues to stock venison.
