HN Sancere 22 75cl
£22.50
£22.50 per 75clProduct information
This flinty little number from the famous hills above Saint-Satur is pale and très chic. With citrus aromas and just a hint of minerality, it’s perfect with white meat, lemony asparagus, tempura vegetables of simply as an aperitif. A Sancerre sensation. Santé.
Produced by the partnership between Domaine Gérard Fiou and Henri Bourgeois, using low-yielding old vines (some over 60 years old) grown on flinted hillsides, this classic Sancerre receives six months of lees ageing lends weight and concentration. Produced in the same area of the Loire as Crottin de Chavignol; its smoky minerality and refreshing acidity make an excellent match to the famous goats’ cheese.

lovely
Too pricey for every day wine but very nice for a bit more special occasion.
Wrong price point
Having bought a few bottles of the Chablis Grand Cru from the same supplier we decided to test this Sancerre. Whereas the Chablis is unremarkable but pleasant enough this Sancerre is quite awful. We tested it at several temperatures to put it through the usual paces and found it undrinkable at all temperatures. It may be usable in some sauces or dressings that don't require a quality wine. It is very acidic, sharp with little fruitiness. It is basically a £12 wine.
Good, however not the best.....
Unlike many of the previous reviews we paid for our bottle! It was good although given the Harvey Nichols name I would have expected better. It was a little in your face and without the subtlety or aftertaste normally associated with a really good Sancerre. I cant help but feel much of the cost is being spent on buying the brand rather than really good quality. As I said in the heading......good,but not the best. Better value elsewhere.
Lovely wine!
Received this to review and loved it! Very smooth. Wouldn't probably order again at full price as a tad expensive for everyday drinking but would order again on offer.
Lovely wine
Was really pleased with this purchase, a lovely tasting wine
Undecided
Thoroughly enjoyed this wine. A very clean wine without the acidic finish you often associate with cheaper Sancerres or Sauvignon Blancs. I am just unsure if it is worth the price.
