This has changed and not for the better
I received this as a free sample to review. I did eat these on occasion as a student way back in the day (its not a substitute for the real thing but was an acceptable quick meal). The smell of this once I opened the tin was exactly as I remembered albeit maybe a little more runny, but the taste is not good at all and has changed. it reminds me of that American box mac and cheese, highly synthetic flavour with a really off putting after taste. I was however surprised at the calories as I did expect it to be much higher for macaroni cheese, so that's something if you manage to finish the tin.
Heavily processed
I could eat this if its all there was, but I wouldnt chose to. Tastes artificial and not like real food, so far removed from real Mac and cheese
Free sample
Thought we'd give it a try as it was free from Ocado. Tasteless, disgusting gloop.
Not great
It's not really Mac & Cheese but more like a cheese soup with pasta.
Worst Mac and Cheese Ever!
I love all kinds of mac and cheese including a lot of cheap versions...this was the most revolting thing I have ever tried to eat. One tiny mouthful was enough to almost make me gag. It smells like sick and doesn't taste much better. I wasn't expecting it to be great but at least edible. Please save your money and tastebuds and don't get this!
Can\x27t compare with home\-made macaroni cheese
I'm glad that so many reviewers found this to be a pleasant meal, but I'm afraid I'm not one of them. It's described as pasta in a delicious cheese sauce, but whilst there's plenty of macaroni, the sauce is just a slurpy mass of liquid with very little taste of cheese. I admit to having bought it several times as it's so quick and easy to prepare, but to get any real flavour you need to add at least a couple of heaped tablespoons of grated cheese. This melts very quickly and certainly makes the meal more palatable, but it adds substantially to the cost and the calories. It's filling enough and okay if you're short of time or just can't be bothered to cook, but I certainly wouldn't describe it as delicious. 3 stars at best.
