Brilliant
Had Original Salad cream as a child on salads (not sure what other options there were in the 60s!). Never use it now as a salad dressing but for mixing with mayo to make egg mayonnaise, tuna mayonnaise, potato salad or on its own in cheese and tomato sandwiches it is unbeatable for giving some zing to the flavour. Cupboard staple.
tasty
Really tasty and better for you, great
Fab for low fat!
I was surprised at how good it is for such a low fat version, reviewers saying it tastes nothing like the original, I just don’t get that? I like to mix it with low fat Mayo for egg or tuna mayo and on the side of a ham salad with steamed new potatoes.
FINE WITH SALAD
Helps a lot because it has a lot less fat.
WE LIKE IT BUT CONFESS - WE DON'T USE IN SALAD
Suits our palates & tastes good considering the fat reduction. BUT confess to never serving with salads. We eat a lot of fish & use this as a quick/ pseudo tartare sauce, just stirred with drained whole or chopped capers.... .It's good with oily fish like mackerel, also with pan fried & deep fried/battered, even cod from the chippy... It cuts through any fattiness & enhances the flavour.
Heinz Salad Cream... or not...
This is truly terrible - bought it by accident but figured, how could you mess up Salad Cream? NEVER buy this. Horrible consistency and flavour. Tastes nothing like Salad Cream.
