yuck!
Like tasteless wall paper paste - no porridge taste or taste of anything for that matter! Offered it to the babies who turned their noses up at it so tried it myself & had to agree. Was not improved by the addition of fruit as the texture is weird anyway & adding fruity rendered it too watery & caused it to separate.
gross
My little one refused to eat this. The texture looked awful on the spoon like jelly with a floury paste added to it. Wouldnt recommend
Turns to liquid!
I bought this to take on holiday for my 7 month old instead of having to make up his usual porridge. He liked the taste but half way through it turned to liquid and we couldnt feed it to him. Very disappointing.
no added sugar
The other reviews say this has added sugar but it doesnt? It clearly says on the jar no added sugar and if you read the ingredients list it also confirms no added sugar it may not taste as palatable as the previous sugar version but a little fruit purée could be added for natural sweetness.
Bring back the old version
It used to be a great porridge, the only one my kids ate. So we'd order it all the time and it was a great travel snack. It maybe had a pinch of sugar, but not much at all and it had a super great taste. Now it's a bland watery mix, which kids refuse to eat. Pity. I hope Hipp offers the old one as an 'original' version too.
sugar???
If you want to give porridge to your baby buy some oats and ground them up. In this day and age it pains me to see sugar still being offered in these products. They would argue it to be 'consumer choice' but most parents would not associate this and certain other brands to be inclined to add sugar to their products, it should be displayed at the front of the packaging. This product went in the bin, in my view a first taste should not include sugar! I also would like the government to include baby food on the traffic light labelling system.
