A real quick treat for GF diets
I really enjoyed this. I didn't have a doughnut tin, I do i cooked the whole thing like a cake and it was very nice. It is more cakey but i love that it is unsweetened as it allowed me to add my own sweetner. I used allulose which worked really well with no after taste.. Will definitely buy again. It would be great if ocado stocked the dumpling mix and the yorkshire pudding mix...
Great
More like cakes but delicious
Vegan recipe was a disaster
We made these using the vegan ingredients. We followed the recipe exactly. Not only did they not cook in the middle despite cooking them for double the time specified but the amount of baking powder they recommended made them inedible. The after taste was chemically and very unpleasant. Threw the whole batch away. Such a shame.
Not for me
Although I put it in the oven for a long time it felt very jelly ?
Easy and fun but
They dont taste like doughnuts. Wouldnt buy again for that reason.
Fun for kids to make
I was sent these to review, and it's not something I would ordinarily buy because I tend to make things from scratch rather than use mixes. Having said that, it worked out really well as something to make with the kids as it's fairly straightforward to do as there's less adding different things and measuring (which I admit has its positives, but doesn't always work out as well in practice!), and it's fairly foolproof. Mine really enjoyed mixing and cooking them and were very proud of the results. I agree that the texture didn't end up like a shop donut, but you can't really expect that from a gluten free home mix, and although it was more of a cake texture, I personally got the donut flavour vibe, and when they were rolled in sugar, we all agreed that they were a very nice treat. Doesn't make loads but a fun little activity and tbh given they are rolled in sugar, you don't want much anyway. They also lasted well - one was saved for a few days for big sister and it was still very tasty
