Preparation and Usage
300g Isabel's Pizza Base Mix (2 sachets)
200ml Cow's or Soya Milk
3 tbsp Olive Oil
1 large Free-range Egg, lightly whisked
To make the bases vegan you will need:
300g Isabel's Pizza Base Mix (2 sachets)
200g Mashed Potato, Sweet Potato or Squash
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
300ml Soya Milk
3 tbsp Olive Oil
Add herbs such as oregano or finely chopped wild garlic or chives to the flour mix for more flavour. Optional, but really nice.
Method
1 Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F (180°C for fan assisted) Gas Mark 6.
2 Place pizza mix into a large bowl and make a well in the middle. Add the whisked egg (or potato and baking powder if making the vegan version), oil and milk and mix well. Knead until it forms a pliable dough. Divide into 4 balls.
3 Roll out each ball into a 20cm base, no more than 2mm deep. Use Isabel's All-purpose Cassava Flour or maize starch for dusting to prevent the dough from sticking.
4 Place on a non-stick tray and bake for approx. 10 minutes, turning over half way. Remove from oven and add toppings. Bake for further 15 minutes or until topping are cooked.
Top Tip:
For best results, apply a very thin layer of tomato sauce or red pesto to the base before part baking (this will stop the base rising in the middle). You can then add more sauce before adding the topping. You can also try adding the sauce and topping to the base without part baking, the base might be a little chewier in the middle, but you might prefer this.
Keep experimenting to find your perfect pizza!

So tasty & great option for non gluten eaters
Be sure to bake before putting topping on. Loved the flavour of this and so quick and easy to make also prepping other non - gluten dough for other family members.
Really delicious!
This pizza dough mix is super easy to make and really delicious. We made a vegan version. I will definitely keep buying it.
If you have allergies, stop looking here!
I have a million squillion allergies. Including most grains and eggs. So I had consigned my pizza dreams to memory. But then came THIS! I use the vegan recipe which replaces the eggs with mashed sweet potato (you can use white potato if you aren't allergic, like I am, eyeroll). Top tip, roll out between baking paper and flour well to prevent sticking. These make a very passable and tasty pizza base. I've also made great tasting "fauxballs" (doughballs without the dough) and made a dairy free garlic and parsley butter to go over them. DIVINE. I'm going to try it using Aquafaba instead of the eggs too. If you have allergies, this is a god send.
it is really really bad
This dough makes gloopy slimy pizzas. Have been gf for over a decade, have tried them all and this has definitely been the worst.
amazing
All of the products by Isabels are absolutely amazing!!
A revelation
This is the most wonderful discovery for someone who is gluten and potato/corn etc allergic. Its just like a normal thin and crispy pizza base and is versatile to use as a flatbread too! Highly recommended.
