tough and chewy

There really is nothing good about these. More outer leaves and stingy fibre than anything that resembles artichoke hearts. And most of it floating in a huge amount of tasteless oil. Will never buy them again. Very disappointed. Would give it zero stars if that option were available.

the artichokes smell and taste of artichokes but they are very oily
