Tasty but needs more chilli
I have a small appetite so enjoyed half a pouch with a small jacket potato and veg. It was very tasty but not spicy enough, so I’ll try adding chilli flakes next time. Great to stock up when on offer.
Good for one, not two
Too small for two in my opinion but is quick and convenient addition to microwave rice for a filling meal. The texture and flavour is spot on and can take all sorts of additions to bulk out to a full meal. On a whim I cooked some frozen sprouts in the microwave (3-4 minutes), added one of thes pouches and was very surprised with the results in more ways than one! So not just a one-trick pony with rice. I have since tried with quite a variety of steamed veggies and it really does hit the spot on a cold winters day!
Bland
This is possibly the most bland chilli I've ever tasted. Heinz baked beans are more flavourful than this. I'm not exactly sure what is supposed to qualify this as a chilli besides having kidney beans in it, because it clearly hasn't been within ten feet of a spice at any point in its production
Rich flavour
Rich, smokey flavour, perfect with rice or a jacket potato.
Great smoky flavour
Plenty of richly-flavoured sauce, with a variety of beans, sweet potato and peppers. Very nice with buttered oatcakes, I know, unusual combination but when trying to cut down on wheat, and not wanting to get bored of rice with everything, I had to try it, and it works.
nice taste, not too spicy
I like this chilli, nice taste, not too spicy. There is a bit of liquid sauce in it, which is making it better than the lentil one, which I find a bit too dry. I see some people complained about the portion size, but this is a perfect portion size for me. I serve it with half a packet of microwavable rice and a protein like soy protein or vegan chicken nuggets.
