Jim Barry McRae Wood Shiraz 75cl
£34
£34 per 75clProduct information
These mature, low-yielding vines consistently provide outstanding fruit which, since its inception in 1992, has established the McRae Wood as an exceptional example of Clare Shiraz. The McRae Wood has an enviable track record on the international and national wine show circuit, with past vintages amassing numerous trophies and gold medals.
The 2008 McRae Wood Shiraz offers highly perfumed and floral aromas of cedar, jasmine and caraway seed. The palate has flavours of blackberry, cranberry, damson plums and red currants. Fine grained tannins are astutely balanced with natural acidity and a creamy finish.
"Treat and store well, decant shortly before drinking."

Lovely and smooth
Such a nice wine from this vineyard, hand picked quality at a decent price
Dry and highly tannic
Purchased as an xmas treat on the back of the multiple positive reviews. I drink lots of shiraz and love full bodied , complex wines - this (to me) is undrinkable. Even after 24hrs breathing (having been too tannic at opening) this wine hasn't opened up at all - no fruit , just a tongue curling mouthful of pure leathery tannin
Big flavour
This was excellent. A gorgeous black cherry colour. Good depth of flavour with a smooth finish. Definitely worth the money. Will buy again.
Spend your money on this
No need to go on, this is it! Drink now or watch the value go up if you cellar, you cannot lose
Discovered 20 years ago, keep coming back
This is a really lovely big, smooth, juicy red. Fabulous drinking on its own or with hearty food. Great value and happy to pay this much when I know its reliable and a very good example of its type.
Smooth
There are few wines I enjoy more than a full bodied Australian Shiraz. This wine manages to pack a punch of full depth flavour with a lovely smooth finish. Highly recommended.
