In addition to being superb on a salad, one reason that mackerel fish remains so popular is down to its nutritional content: high in Vitamin D and Omega 3 alike. As well as selling traditional tinned mackerel in olive oil (ideal for cooking with), John West has perfected a range of sauces to go with delicious mackerel, jazzing up even the humblest of snack times. |

Garlic!
These were sent to me as a substitution. All I really have to say about this product is "GARLIC"!! They are so overpoweringly garlicky, you can't taste anything else. So if industrial quantities of garlic are your thing, go for it.
Great lunch with a Buddha Bowl or crunchy slad
A great option and a quick go to which adds flavour and taste to a crunchy salad. Really nice!
Tasty change
Tried these for a change for my packed lunch. Very convinient, took some lettuce and tomatoes to work with this tin, very nice tasty change
Unpleasant
Yuk when I found the small amount of mackerel hiding at the bottom of the tin I had to scrape off the awful oily cloying sauce.Im a huge sweet chili fan and believe me this sauce is nothing like it.
High sugar content
Usually like most varieties of this tinned mackerel but this one tasted far too sweet. I hadn't checked how much sugar was in as I wouldn't expect it in tinned fish but it was 17%. That's a few teaspoonsful per small tin so take your choice.
Unpleasant
I love sweet chilli sauce and spicy food. I was unable to eat this! It tastes like fishy, sour jam. The overall flavour is sickly sweet. Sugar overload.
