Still good

Have enjoyed these for ever and the high quality has remained the same. The best thing that John West does

Bit disappointed by these

The tin is a lot smaller than you anticipate - only 106g (compared to about 135g for most sardine tins and 165g for tinned pilchards) so they really don't go very far. There seemed to be an awful lot of tomato sauce too and not much fish, and the tomato sauce itself was very oily compared to the tinned sardines I normally get. I didn't find the flavour of these any nicer than sardines, maybe not quite as fishy. I wouldn't order them again, I'll stick with pilchards when I can get them and the Parmentier sardines when I can't.

Favourite!

The best and most delicious smoked tiny sardines! Love them!

Leave the bones in... you can't tell they're there

Nice, tasty - but not overpowering - tinned fish. Although you can see the backbone there's no gritty texture... so leave it in - you really can't tell it's there at all.

great on toast

really nice smoky taste, not as aggressively fishy as sardines, good balance of sauce to fish and super-nutritious as well

so tasty

delicious warm on toast, or cold with a salad. Less oily and gritty than sardines, and a more delicate flavour.
